Shopping locally the big payoff
January 3rd, 2010 | By: Fred Nystrom
Just before Thanksgiving, the Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce launched a vital new program to benefit local businesses, residents and city services.
The Shop Issaquah Program and the companion web siteĀ www.shopissaquah.org have been created to help local residents find goods and services they need without leaving town. Here is how it works:
For residents
Register at the web site for free by providing your name, email and zip code. An identification card is created to download and use with local businesses. Registered users can visit the listing pages showing local businesses. Each listing includes a description of services, map and directions, homepage links and a Special Offer such as a discount, a bundle of services or a special upgrade. Each Special Offer is an exclusive offer for registered users only. These Special Offers can change, so check the site before shopping to ensure the best price and service available. Once a month the web site will send an email alert to all registered residents sharing newly added businesses and other ways to save by shopping locally.
For businesses
Come to the site and use the Merchant Services section to add your own business into the program. The instructions are easy to follow and the results are immediate.
Remember when you shop locally you are creating great returns for our entire community.
